Make-Up Exam Request Application

The policy for make-up exams allows a student to request a make-up exam under the circumstances outlined in the Examination Policies for the College of Law. See below for the College of Law's make-up exam policy. Such cases must be approved by the College of Law Registrar.

A student may submit a Make-up Exam Request Application if the student has two examinations scheduled to begin and end during the same 24-hour period. Make-up Exam Request Applications should not be submitted earlier than four weeks before the first day of the exam period. The Law Registrar will not accept Make-up Exam Request Applications submitted earlier than four weeks before the first day of the exam period. Make-up Exam Request Applications will be processed until one week before the first day of the exam period. The Law Registrar will not accept Make-up Exam Request Applications submitted after one week prior to the first day of the exam period.

Notwithstanding the foregoing, in limited circumstances students may be approved for an emergency rescheduling of their exam. If this is your circumstance, please upload supporting documentation below. If this is not your circumstance, you do not need to upload any additional information.

Non-Law Course Permission Form

Students are responsible for securing the professor’s permission to join the professor’s non-law course before making this request. Students who do not receive prior permission risk receiving no credit or a failing grade in the course. Requests must be received at least two weeks before the registration period begins for the semester when the desired change would take effect, if approved. For example, if registration for the fall 2050 semester begins on April 14, 2050 the request must be received no later than March 31, 2050. Independent Study Application

The maximum number of credits for independent research that may be counted toward graduation is two (2). Students are responsible for obtaining the supervising professor’s approval prior to completing this application. Failure to do so may result in failing the course or receiving no credit for the course. Requests/applications must be received at least two weeks before the registration period begins for the semester when the desired change would take effect, if approved. For example, if registration for the fall 2050 semester begins on April 14, 2050 the request/application must be received no later than March 31, 2050.

Writing Requirement

The writing requirement and the experiential learning requirement cannot be fulfilled by the same course. Students need to receive approval from the professor who will supervise their work they will complete in their plan to fulfill the writing requirement. No additional information from the student has to be submitted. The professor will submit students who complete the writing requirement when they submit their grades. Please note that completion of the writing requirement is not visible on students’ transcripts. The writing requirement is only documented as satisfied on students’ academic evaluations via Degree Works.
