LSRJ, SHLA, PILA Lunchtime Screening and Discussion

Noon - 12:45 pm - Room 100
Since this year's Miller Lecture will not be providing food, please join us for lunch before the lecture!

We will be screening "Voices of Choice," a film that features the work of physicians before Roe v. Wade in 1973 on Wednesday, April 16, in Room 100 at Noon. The film was created in honor of the 40th anniversary of Roe v. Wade last year and documents the experiences of physicians involved in women's health care reform prior to the landmark ruling.  Their stories remain fascinating, moving, and profound--a record of the horror of illegal abortion and the social and historical ramifications of a time when health care provider worked to save the lives of women who suffered needlessly.

The screening will be followed by a discussion with Dr. Erin Berry-Bibee, a Fellow with Physicians for Reproductive Health.  Dr. Berry-Bibee will discuss topics related to current reproductive healthcare laws and issues facing women in GA.  She will also discuss her work in Haiti, where she provides women access to quality health care.  Specifically, Dr. Berry-Bibee will discuss the international challenges associated with women's health care in the developing world.

The event will conclude at 12:45pm to allow students time to get to the Miller Lecture.
