1. Announcements should be focused on sharing information relevant to students, faculty and staff at the College of Law. Before submitting an announcement for an event, please be certain that the date, time and location have been confirmed.
    
2. College of Law announcements will not include political opinions or serve as official statements on behalf of Georgia State University or the University System of Georgia.
    
3. Events must be submitted to the calendar to be promoted and included in the weekly student newsletter. Announcement submissions regarding events will be deleted if the event has not been submitted to the Law Calendar events.
    
4. The College of Law Communications staff has the authority to edit or delete posts, as necessary.
    
5. Copyright and trademark laws still apply in digital spaces. Be sure you have the right to use any images you upload with your posts. If you quote an article or excerpt from a book, please attribute the original source in the announcement.
    
6. The best announcements are clear, concise and contain a call-to-action. Think about your overall goal. What do you want people to do after they read your content? Register for an event? Be sure to include a hyperlink identifying the call-to-action.
    
7. Titles with verbs and/or a call to action tend to draw more attention. For example: “Register for the SBA Conference."

All College of Law Calendar events will be shared in the weekly newsletters, once they are approved. Announcement submissions regarding events will be deleted if the event has not been submitted to the Law Calendar events. or if the event date has already passed.

  • Select the “Submit an event” button and login with your campus ID and password.
  • Select the "College of Law" under the Colleges and School category.
  • Select appropriate associated centers, clinics, student organizations, career services, etc. under College of Law.
  • Indicate in the event copy whether an event is intended only for College of Law students, faculty, alumni, etc
  • Once you are done entering info, click “Add Event” at the bottom of the page. The event will go into a pending approval queue. Most events are approved within 24 hours of submission.

Announcements may be submitted to promote an event happening more than two weeks away (if RSVPs are necessary).

You do not need to submit an announcement. Your event will appear under the "Events" section of the student newsletter.
