1L Student Recruiting Guidelines
First Semester 1L Engagement
In the interest of long term success for our law students, we believe that the focus of their efforts during the first semester of law school should be on their studies and not their job search. As such we ask that employers do not engage in one-on-one recruiting of first-year students until December 1st.
Larger networking events hosted by employers prior to December 1st are welcome and should be inclusive with invitations extended to the entire class. Our Center for Professional Development & Career Services is happy to assist with the communication of these events.
1L Summer Offer
Offers for employment following the first year of law school should be held open for 21 Days. Firms are welcome to require reaffirmation of interest on the 14th day.
Number of Offers Students May Hold
Students will not be allowed to hold more than three (3) offers of employment at any one time and should release any offers not being seriously considered.
Communication
We strongly encourage transparent and productive communication between student, employers and Professional Development department members.
2L Student Recruiting Guidelines
