Congratulations to Grace Parker Gluck (J.D. ’24), recipient of the 2024 Charity Scott Health Law Award. This award was generously endowed by the late Professor Emerita Charity Scott, founder of the Center for Law, Health & Society and demonstrated professionalism and service to the profession. The health law faculty members chose Gluck for t his honor because she had top grades in her health law certificate courses, her leadership in the Student Health Law Association, service as a pro bono volunteer with Atlanta Legal Aid Society and participation in the HeLP Legal Services Clinic.
“I have carried Professor Scott’s lessons with me in pursuing my education in the health law program at Georgia State Law, maintaining a relentless focus on not only learning the requisite facts and rules in an academic context, but also challenging myself to grasp how this information manifests and empowers me to accomplish my goals in the broader healthcare landscape,” said Gluck, who was recognized at the 2024 Honors Day ceremony.
Gluck and Joseph Shafritz (J.D. ’24) also received the Award for Excellence in the Study of Health Law. This award recognizes superior academic achievement in the health law courses required for the health law certificate; Health Law: Finance and Delivery and Health Law: Quality and Access. Gluck and Shafritz also received the HeLP Legal Services Clinic Alex Patafio Fearless Advocate Peer Award.
Isabella Matuk (J.D. ’24), Gregory Mercer (J.D. ’23) and Karis Perusek (J.D. ’25) were selected for the annual HeLP Legal Services Clinic Award for their outstanding performance and provision of legal advocacy to low-income clients at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and their families.
