The 2024 State of the South Conference will be held on Friday, Feb. 23, 2024, from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
The conference will look at the relationship between physical location and one’s ability to access courts, equality and justice. We will examine the various ways in which our substantive and procedural rights have become location-dependent and discuss ways to increase access to courts, justice and equality despite these regional and state-based disparities. Panels will focus on issues related to pretrial release and detention, reproductive health and voting access.
Keynote Speaker Alicia Bannon is the editor of State Court Report and director of the Brennan Center for Justice's Judiciary Program.
