The deadline has been extended to Monday, January 23 at 5 p.m. to apply for the Squire Patton Boggs Sustained Impact Fellowships, which provides a $5000 stipend and great programming, including mentoring, throughout the summer. The fellowships focus on racial justice (in Ohio and Texas), disaster relief (in Puerto Rico), and veterans issues (in San Francisco). We are looking for applicants interested in being Georgia State University's nominee for these fellowships. Please email the Director of Public Interest Programs Darcy Meals, this week if you plan to apply. Submit your materials by email to [email protected] by Monday, January 23 at 5 p.m., the extended internal deadline.
The three Squire Patton Boggs Sustained Impact Fellowships are as follows:
Now in its fifth year, our Puerto Rico Disaster Relief Sustained Impact Fellowship continues to focus on post-hurricane disaster relief and community rebuilding in Puerto Rico. We partner with two organizations in San Juan – Centro para Puerto Rico and Ayuda Legal Puerto Rico. Fluent business Spanish skills are required for these Fellowships.
In response to the May 2020 murder of George Floyd, we created three Racial Justice Sustained Impact Fellowships. They are with the Lawyers Committee on Civil Rights Under Law, working on voting rights; the Citizen Complaint Authority in Cincinnati, Ohio, working on police–minority community issues; and Lone Star Justice Alliance in Dallas, working on juvenile justice in minority communities in Dallas.
The third and newest is our Veterans Justice Sustained Impact Fellowship, which is with Swords to Plowshares, a nonprofit organization located in San Francisco and dedicated to supporting veterans and their families.
To apply to become GSU’s nominee for any of these three fellowships, please complete the relevant application form(s) hyperlinked above and submit your resume and a list of courses taken/underway this spring. Please send all materials to Darcy Meals at [email protected] by Monday, January 23 at 5 p.m.
