Georgia State University Law Review 27th Annual Symposium
The Georgia State University Law Review is excited to announce the topic for our forthcoming Special Issue and 2022 Law Review Symposium: Rethinking Antitrust: Adapting Competition Doctrine to Contemporary Problems. In recent years, we have witnessed a renewed interest in antitrust enforcement with the rise of “big tech” and related industry growth unanticipated by previous regulatory schemes. To what extent are the old paradigms of antitrust able to effectively regulate the “new economy”? Can the economic models used to assess anticompetitive agreements in college sports, railroads, oil conglomerates and durable goods manufacturing really address the privacy and equity issues emerging from our new internet-driven economy? Should they?
We invite you to collaborate with us as part of our Symposium to discuss the resurgence of antitrust. Join us as the Georgia State University Law Review delves into the role antitrust plays in protecting consumers and what those protections mean for the future of new entrants in existing and emerging markets, individual privacy and community equity.
