The Office of Equity and Civil Rights Compliance is searching for law students to play the role of attorneys in our upcoming employment law mock trial on Friday, April 1st from 11am – 3pm. If circumstances allow, we plan on holding the trial in-person in the College of Law’s Courtroom.
The purpose of this mock trial is to give GSU students and employees the opportunity to see litigation focused on sexual harassment and sex discrimination claims based on gender identity. We will explore what happens when a trans Parks and Recreation employee experiences misgendering, unwanted comments/conduct, and work reassignment after beginning transitioning. Students, working in pairs, will be provided a mock trial problem to prepare and orally argue on behalf of their client.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain trial experience and showcase your talents in front of Darrell Graham, the Atlanta District Director for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), who will serve as the judge for the Mock Trial. Director Graham will also provide feedback, a relevant legal update, and general advice to the student attorneys.
Interested students may apply by e-mailing their resume to email@example.com by March 1st, 2022.
