The GSU College of Law’s community food locker has expanded! In addition to the snack locker found on the second floor of the building (Locker #2008), food and hygiene products are now available in the lockers on the lower level near the refrigerator and microwave.
The food locker was started a couple of years ago by a student who was concerned about her peers and classmates. As we have learned, food insecurity is an issue for some students attending the college of law. The goal in stocking these lockers is to alleviate the stress associated with short-term food insecurity. With the help of a few generous alumni, we are happy to continue what she started.
Downstairs, we have stocked the lockers according to the following categories: soup, beverages, breakfast food, canned goods, soups, chips, cookies & crackers, condiments, utensils, feminine hygiene, and male hygiene. The second floor locker will remain stocked with snacks. If you have ideas for any additional categories, or if any lockers are running low, please text Lora (404) 457-5744 or Dan (808) 782-8555.
Donations are welcome, but not required to take advantage of the food locker. Next to the lockers, we have provided flyers with our CashApp and Venmo information. This information is also provided below.
If you need additional support, the Panther Pantry provides food and hygiene packs to students once a week. See pantry.gsu.edu for more information. Please do not hesitate to reach out privately if you need more help than what this locker can provide.
