In 1970, the Georgia state legislature passed the Coastal Marshlands Protection Act, a new piece of legislation that provided sweeping protections for the marshlands lining Georgia's coast. The CMPA protects these marshlands from development or active use, preserving them as a vital natural resource system for the state.
Join the Environmental Law Society on Tuesday, March 9 at noon for a discussion about the history of the Coastal Marshlands Protection Act, its implementation, and challenges that it has faced in the past and may face in the future.
