The Sexual Misconduct Board (SMB) is the only live hearing option for students, student organizations, faculty or staff with alleged violations of Title IX. Due to recent changes to Title IX, live hearings require cross-examination by advisors to all parties participating in the live hearing. We are now recruiting faculty, staff and law students to serve in the advisor role.
We are looking for those who are accountable and responsible enough to ask well thought out questions, as well as take the time to understand the nuances of each case.
If you are interested in becoming an advisor for live hearings, here are the minimum requirements. You must be:
• A current faculty or staff at Georgia State University; OR
• A current 2L or 3L law student;
• In good disciplinary standing with the institution;
• Have no current or prior violation of the Sexual Misconduct Policy.
If you are interested, please direct questions and submit your resume and a brief bio to [email protected] by September 30, 2020.
