On Monday, September 23, 2019, the Black Law Students Association and American Constitution Society will present a free screening of documentary film “The Home Team” at 5 p.m. in the Knowles Conference Center of the College of Law. “The Home Team” explores the culture that saw fit to invest hundreds of millions of public dollars in a new sports venue, while neglecting the community just across the street. Watch the trailer here.
After the film, we will have a panel discussion with Wayne Kendall, the attorney behind the film and corresponding lawsuit against Fulton County officials, as well as film director Camille Pendley and Rev. Motley of Lindsey Street Baptist Church about Mercedes-Benz Stadium’s impact on surrounding historical neighborhoods and their residents.
Movie snacks will be served. End your Monday with a social justice film screening and snack bar!
