To all the 1Ls: Good luck with your search for a summer internship!
On December 1, 2009, 1Ls can finally join all the other law students in the race to find a summer clerkship or law internship. Although the internship pickings will likely be slim in 2010, it is definitely possible for a Georgia State first-year law student to get a summer internship with a law firm, judicial clerkship, or public sector.

When I was a 1L, I rarely ventured outside of the Urban Life Building and the Student Center for food. I simply did not know where else to purchase food on campus. This summer I discovered some delicious options while working at an internship in the vicinity.

The best restaurants in Atlanta on a law student budget
As a self-professed food connoisseur, "09 Elite" food critic for Yelp.com, and broke law student, I am constantly balancing the need to stay within a reasonable budget and the desire for high quality food. In the six years that I have lived in Atlanta, I have dined in over 100 restaurants around the Atlanta metropolitan area. I have compiled a list of the restaurants with the best food at budget prices. My ratings are based solely on the quality of food--the elements of which are flavor, texture, freshness, saltiness, and likelihood to cause food poisoning.

Snap out of your false sense of security
Pop culture fooled the vast majority of Americans into believing that most attorneys enjoy the jet-set lifestyle, replete with luxury cars, yachts, Armani suits, and beluga caviar. Societal misconceptions have lulled many law students – particularly bright-eyed 1Ls and even some 2Ls– into a false sense of security.
