Using the Classroom Camera

Image of the camera control station in 2nd generation classroom

The second generation classroom cameras are found in rooms 653 and 659.

In the back corner of the classroom, you will see the camera control station that is built into the wall (It is the metal panel shown in this image). For security purposes, the panel folds up and locks when not in use.  The key to the camera control station is located in the podium top drawer.

Unlock and fold down the camera control station.

Use the joystick control and the preset buttons to position the camera.  On the joystick control, twisting the top of the knob controls the zoom feature of the camera.

Recording at the Podium

At the podium, you will need to turn the volume on the podium control panel completely down to avoid feedback from the microphones through the speakers.

Open the podium to access the VCR.  Turn on the VCR.  Set the channel to L1 (This is the channel with the video from the classroom cameras).  Insert your VHS tape and press the Record button when you are ready to begin recording. If you wish to use the VCR remote control, it is located in the top right drawer of the podium.
