Working with the Computer

All College of Law classroom podiums have network connectivity for the Smart Podium computer and also a network jack for connecting laptops with ethernet network cards.

Open the Smart Podium lower cabinet doors. Inside you will see the computer. If the computer is not turned on, press the Power button on the computer. 

If the monitor is not turned on, press the power button on the monitor.

Next, open the top drawer on the podium to access the keyboard and mouse.

There is a wireless keyboard and mouse also included in the podium top drawer, if you prefer to move about the classroom while using the computer and the projector.

 

 

 

 

Logging In to the Computer

Press the CTRL+ALT+DEL keys to get the Novell Login dialog box.

When the Novell Login Dialog Box appears, log in with your user ID and password.

At the next dialog box, leave the Name as "law" and type in the password. The password can be obtained by contacting Technology Services.

Click OK.

 

 

 

 

Accessing the Internet

After you've logged in, you will be able to access the network, the Internet, and software installed on the computer, such as PowerPoint, Word, WordPerfect, and Adobe Acrobat.

To access the Internet, double-click the Internet Explorer icon on the desktop.

Internet Explorer will open.  Type in the Web address you want to view, and then click Go on the Address Bar.
