Getting Started with Classroom Polling (Clickers)If you do not have TurningPoint software installed on your office computer, please contact the Law Technology Help Desk at 3-9111. Let the help desk technician know that you would like it installed and to have a training session. Our Desktop Support team will install the software for you, and you will be contacted so we can find out the best time that we can meet with you for a training session. At this training session, you will be shown the features of the TurningPoint Toolbar in PowerPoint, the types of polling questions you can use, and how to save your clicker session data and run reports with that data. Checking out ClickersOnce you have created your presentation with your questions in TurningPoint, you can check out a clicker kit from the Law Library Circulation Desk. There are three sizes of kits available:
These kits are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please make sure to return the kit in a timely manner. Clickers for visually-impaired students are available upon request. Please contact the Law Technology Help Desk at 3-9111 at least 24 hours in advance of your class. In the ClassroomThe clickers have a range of 200 feet. You will need to plug in the USB receiver into the USB port on the front of the computer inside the podium. Click the TurningPoint icon on the desktop. On the TurningPoint toolbar, follow the menu path Tools>Settings.
Select ResponseCard Channels and set the channel to the one specified for your room in the channel chart located inside the clicker kit. Change the number of expected devices to the number of your students. Click Done. It's easy to set the channel on the clickers. After you pass the clickers out to your students:
