Instructional Technology

We help faculty, staff, and students learn about the uses of technology in legal education and practice through the development and delivery of training programs, Web-based instruction, informational resources, and online self-help systems.  We offer classroom technology training to help faculty, staff and students get acclimated to the equipment and resources available in our learning spaces, including our courtroom video recording and evidence presentation systems and legal case management systems. 

Faculty

We assist faculty with integrating technology in teaching, as well as providing assistance with creating courses on Westlaw's TWEN, LexisNexis Course Management System, and the WWWEBBB system created by College of Law Professor Patrick Wiseman.

In addition to the services provided by the College of Law Information Technology Team, University Education and Training Services (UETS) offers faculty additional resources to promote teaching and learning with technology.  UETS also offers ULearn, a university-level online course management system powered by Blackboard, the vClass virtual classroom system for online collaboration, and podcasting with Georgia State on iTunesU.

The Exchange Faculty Resource Center is now open.  The Exchange is a great place to get assistance with video editing and podcasting.  We'll be setting up tours of the new resource center for interested faculty so they can meet the university instructional design team on staff at the Exchange.

Students

Training on legal research tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis are offered to eligible law students throughout the semester. Students can also receive hands-on training for the courtroom technology systems and software and the case management software in use at the live practice clinics via workshops or one-on-one sessions. For more information, contact the Law Technology Help Desk.

All College of Law students can use the classroom video recording systems to record themselves for litigation projects, practice arguments, and mock trial rehearsals.  You can get help with editing your videos from the Digital Aquarium, an open-access multimedia computer lab for all Georgia State University students.
