Continued support of Windows XP on campus computersGeorgia State University and the College of Law will postpone the rollout of Windows Vista Enterprise on the College's workstation computers.
IS&T is postponing the rollout of Microsoft's Windows Vista Enterprise operating system (Vista) on campus, as Microsoft has extended support of Windows XP through 2014. This decision helps to ensure that Vista's compatibility, security, hardware and other issues are addressed prior to deployment. IS&T will continue to evaluate Microsoft Vista with the hope that the recently released Service Pack 1 for Vista resolves some of these outstanding issues. |
