WRITING REQUIREMENT COURSES: Before graduation, each student must complete a course that satisfies the upper level writing requirement. The Schedule of Classes lists some of the courses which may satisfy the requirement. There is no definitive list of courses which meet the writing requirement. If you have questions about whether a course will satisfy the writing requirement, please contact the individual professor.

How Do I Pay for Tuition?

Students must correctly register and pay by the last regularly scheduled registration date (check registration materials for date or call (404) 413-9200) for the classes which they attend. Pay careful attention to the registration process; mistakes may result in your being registered for the wrong classes, or your being charged additional fees. Students will not be given credit for courses they attend if they are not registered for said courses, nor will adjustments be made at the end of the semester for incorrect registration. It is the student's responsibility to make certain that they are registered for the correct courses.

LATE REGISTRATION FEES: Students who fail to register during the early or regular registration periods (see registration calendar) will be required to pay a late registration fee of $50.00.

HOLDS: Before attempting to register, students should check to see if there are any registration holds placed upon them by the Law Library, Pullen Library, Student Accounts, Financial Aid, or any other University office. Transfer and guest students should have already cleared their Immunization Requirement with the Immunization Office. It is the responsibility of the student to clear any existing holds. Students who have not cleared holds or completed the Immunization Requirement during the early or regular registration periods will be charged the late fee.

ON-CAMPUS PAYMENT: Students who pay in person should bring their fee payment to the Office of Student Accounts, Room 100 Sparks Hall.

PAYMENT VIA GoSOLAR: Tuition & Fees can be paid on-line at the GoSOLAR website. To pay tuition via GoSOLAR: Login to GoSOLAR. Once logged in, go to the Student Accounts Menu and then click on the link to Pay Tuition & Fees .

PAYMENT BY MAIL: Tuition & Fees can be paid by mail at the following mailing address:

GSU Student Accounts
P.O. Box 4029
Atlanta, GA 30302-4029

Students who fail to meet the fee deadline(s) will lose all classes for which they are registered and will need to register again during a later phase. Students dropped for non-payment of fees after registering during Late Registration will not be re-registered. A late fee will be charged to all who register and pay for the first time during Late Registration & Drop/Add. Those who were dropped from classes for non-payment of fees will be charged the late fee if registering during Late Registration & Drop/Add.

WE DO NOT SEND BILLS

How do I Withdraw from a Class?

If a student drops a course during the regular registration period, or the Late Registration/Drop-Add period, the dropped course(s) will not show up on the transcript. Courses dropped after the Late Registration/Drop-Add period, but by the midpoint, will be considered "withdrawals" and a grade of "W" or "WF" at instructor's discretion will be recorded on the transcript. Courses dropped after the midpoint will receive a "WF".

Students who wish to withdraw from classes after the Late Registration/Drop-Add period must complete the appropriate paperwork. The Office of Academic Services (3rd floor) will provide the student with the proper form(s) to be completed. The student must then submit the completed form(s) to the University Registrar's Office (Room 227, Sparks Hall). These forms must be completed and received in the Registrar's Office no later than the Midpoint (see the Academic Calendar).

Withdrawals after this point are granted only in cases of hardship, and additional forms must be submitted. Failure to follow this procedure will result in the awarding of a WF instead of a W. A grade of WF is treated as an F (55) for the purpose of computing the grade point average. Retaking the course will not expunge the WF from the student's academic record. Students who find they must withdraw after the midpoint should make an appointment with the College of Law Registrar to discuss their hardship as soon as they become aware of the situation.

For withdrawals made during the first four weeks of the semester, a portion of the student's class fees may be refunded. The refund policy has been modified by the Board of Regents; please contact Student Accounts for more information.

Note the recent changes to the University Withdrawal Policy.

How Do I Apply for Graduation?

All students must apply to graduate. Please contact the Graduation Office (231 Sparks Hall), call (404) 413-2248 or see the University Graduation Office web site for information regarding graduation procedures.
