While the provisions of this bulletin will ordinarily be applied as stated, Georgia State University reserves the right to change any provision listed in this bulletin, including but not limited to academic requirements for graduation, without actual notice to individual students. Every effort will be made to keep students advised of any such changes. Information on changes will be available in the Office of the Registrar for changes made by the university and in the Office of the Dean when changes are made by a college. It is especially important that each student note that it is the student's individual responsibility to keep apprised of current graduation requirements for his or her particular degree program.

Change Note: Summer Semester
No student may enroll in more than 7 hours of course week in the summer semester without permission from the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.
Change Note: Legal Writing Requirement
Each candidate, as a requirement for the J.D. degree, must complete satisfactorily one substantial legal writing project during his or her upper class period of study. To satisfy this requirement, the student must earn a grade of at least 73 on the written portion of any two- or three-credit course that qualifies as a legal writing course. Moot Court briefs do not satisfy the upper level writing requirement. In order for Law Review Notes to satisfy the upper level writing requirement, students must have a faculty member sign off on the finished product, attesting to the fact that the note comports with the guidelines for satisfying the upper level writing requirement.
Change Note for page 19, The JD/MA. Degree Program in Law and Philosophy:
Students enrolled in the JD/MA program are now allowed to credit 9 hours of study in the Philosophy Department to their JD degree.
Change Note for page 25, under section TYPICAL PART-TIME PROGRAM:
NOTE: THE COURSE OF STUDY OUTLINED FOR PART TIME STUDENTS IS MANDATORY DURING THE FIRST AND SECOND YEAR, EXCEPT THAT CONSTITUTIONAL LAW MAY BE TAKEN IN THE SUMMER BETWEEN THE FIRST AND SECOND YEAR.
Additional Info for Part Time 2L's (page 26):
Additional courses that can be taken are Local Government Law, Natural Resources Law, and Water Rights.
Also please note that part-time second year students who have taken Constitutional Law I or Criminal Procedure I may take the continuation semester of those courses."

Change Note for page 32, Description of Courses:
Law 7100 - Unincorporated Business Associations. (2-3)
Basic problems of the law of agency, partnership (including limited partnerships), and unincorporated associations. This course covers the LLC as well as the LLP.
Law 7101 - Corporations (2-3)
A survey of the state and federal laws governing the formation and operation of corporations. This course covers the the basic principles of the LLC.
Schedule
The College of Law operates on a different academic calendar than the university, with two regular academic semesters and one summer mini-semester each year. For this reason, law students are advised to consult this calendar rather than the university calendar. More detailed calendar information regarding registration, fee deadlines, etc., is provided preceding each academic term. Please contact the College of Law for more information.
