Valencia Lewis joined Georgia State University College of Law as a student assistant in October 1995. In January 1997, she accepted a full-time position as a business manager I. In this role, she manages more than 30 student organizations’ budgets. Lewis gives the first-line approval for all procurement transactions. She also processes and approves journals, assists and trains staff on financial and business needs for the college.
Lewis is a graduate of Georgia State University and holds a B.S. in urban policy studies. While working for the College of Law she received the George M. Sparks Award in 2002. This award recognizes Georgia State’s unsung heroes (faculty, staff and students) who exemplify a willingness to go the extra mile with good humor and perseverance.
Lewis is also the recipient of the Ronald J. Freeman, Sr. Chapter’s York Singleton Staff Appreciation Award. This award goes to staff members who have shown great commitment to the Black Law Students Association community.
