Ely Abbott, assistant dean of development, coordinates Georgia State Law’s alumni relations, the law annual campaign and assists in all aspects of law school fundraising. He has been with the college since 2006.
Prior to working at Georgia State Law, Abbott worked in the development office at Georgetown University Law Center and as a fundraiser for two U.S. senators, Max Baucus of Montana and Ron Wyden of Oregon. In 2009, Abbott briefly left Georgia State Law to become the finance director for then-Georgia Attorney General Thurbert Baker’s gubernatorial campaign.
A native of Montana, Abbott lives in Atlanta with his wife and two boys.
