About P.I.L.A

As one of GSU College of Law's most active student organizations, P.I.L.A. offers students a chance to get involved, meet their peers, and contribute to their school and community.

The Public Interest Law Association is a student organization that seeks to promote the goals of public interest law. Public interest law is a highly important and fast-growing area of the law that aims to protect the rights of the public at large (environmental law, consumer protection, etc.), and more particularly of the members of society whose rights go unprotected because of economic disparity, lack of education, or some form of prejudice (indigent defense, elder law, AIDS law, etc.). PILA is associated with the national organization "Equal Justice Works."

GSU P.I.L.A. is best known for the annual auction which serves dually as a networking opportunity for students to meet community leaders and as a fundraiser.

Proceeds from the auction provide for GSU law students interested in working in an area of public interest for the summer!
