NIFTEP Workshops

NIFTEP conducts bi-annual workshops, co-sponsored by the American Bar Association Standing Committee on Professionalism, that bring together leading academics and practitioners involved teaching legal ethics and promoting professionalism.

Participants in NIFTEP workshops are designated NIFTEP Fellows.  There is no charge for workshop registration, lodging, or meals during the workshop.  A limited number of travel stipends for reimbursement of air fare will be available based on need. Travel stipends will typically only reimburse a portion of air fare expenses.

NEXT NIFTEP WORKSHOP

>> APPLY BY FEBRUARY 21, 2011 <<

Fellowship applications for the Spring 2011 workshop are now available.  We will begin processing applications on February 21 and will make selection decisions no later than March 11.  Because there are a limited number of fellowships available, you are encouraged to apply by February 21.  The deadline for Fellows to accept or decline the workshop invitation is March 18.

The Spring 2011 workshop will take place April 29-May 1, 2011 at the University of St. Thomas’ Gainey Conference Center, one hour south of Minneapolis, MN. The themes for the Spring 2011 workshop will be:
  • What can law teachers and practitioners in one country learn from what is being done in other countries to develop innovative and effective ways of teaching ethics and professionalism?
  • How can teaching ethics and professionalism address practicing law in an increasingly global context?

If you wish to be placed on our email list to receive notice when the application for the next workshop is available, please email NIFTEP Deputy Director Charlotte Alexander with "NIFTEP MAILING LIST" in the subject line.
