With the theme “Serving All of Georgia,” the event celebrated the many ways the University benefits the state, allowing University administrators an opportunity to network with legislators during opening week of the session. According to Dean Steve Kaminshine, the event theme holds special significance for the College of Law, as the COL has many graduates who are indeed serving the entire state. “In looking through the names of our alumni from the past 23 years, we realized that among our graduates are a large, distinguished group of people who now put their talents and expertise toward bettering Georgia through their work in public service,” the dean remarked. “Whether they are serving as leaders in the Georgia legislature, the judiciary or public agencies, or as elected officials, our alums and the College of Law serve the state in a variety of ways.”
Speaker Richardson took time out during the Depot event for legislators to visit the College of Law exhibit, which featured poster-size lists of all graduates now serving the state. The posters included nearly 200 names of alumni who now lend their services to Georgia. |
