FIRST ASSIGNMENT

The first class will meet at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, August 19, 2002. We will discuss the material in the casebook on pages 12 and 13 and 20-23, starting with the last full paragraph on p. 12. On page 13, omit Anthony Pools. We also will discuss Pass v. Shelby Aviation, a case which is available in one of the mailboxes designated for SALES, next to the assignment bulletin board. Those who are unfamiliar with the Uniform Commercial Code should read starting at the bottom of page 2 through page 12.

For the first class, the first case we will consider is Advent, page 20. We will next very briefly look at Zapatha, page 22, and finish with Pass v. Shelby Aviation, the case in the mailbox.

The required casebook for the course is Sales by Benfield and Hawkland, Third Edition. In addition, you must have the 2001 or 2002 edition of Selected Commercial Statutes (West). Finally, for future classes I will be assigning cases and problems contained in Supplementary Materials. These Materials will be available in the near future on the course Web site and will be on sale at the Printshop, 6 Decatur Street. We will also be surfing the Web occasionally, so keep your mouse well fed.

Check the Web site for this course for additional announcements.
