Reference and Research Services
Reference Service
Librarians and Graduate Research Assistants take turns staffing the Reference Desk. During Fall and Spring semesters, reference service is available Monday - Thursday, 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. and Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00p.m. Graduate Research Assistants provide reference assistance on the weekends while classes are in session.
Faculty Research Services
Ron Wheeler coordinates all faculty research services. However, all of our librarians are experienced in legal, nonlegal, and Internet research techniques and can be called upon to help you in your research efforts. We can do literature searches, compile bibliographies, research case or statutory law, compile legislative histories, and the like. We can also train your Graduate Research Assistant in specialized research techniques. Please contact Ron Wheeler for research assistance.
Law faculty may also input their requests into our Faculty Request System. The Faculty Request System is a centralized database for all College of Law faculty research projects. Faculty are encouraged to use this system for all faculty services requests, including research, document delivery, instruction, requests, etc. The system also allows faculty to enter a due date for each request and check the status of all pending requests.
Research Guides
Legal research guides, compiled by the librarians, are basic tools that can help you with your research. The guides can be found on the Law Library's website at http://law.gsu.edu/research/.
Faculty Events
Occasionally, the librarians offer lunch time sessions on databases, Internet, or other subjects tied to research. If you have suggestions for future sessions, please contact Ron Wheeler.
