GIL

http://gil.gsu.edu
GIL is the online catalog for the Georgia State University Libraries (Law and University). It contains records for materials owned by the libraries, including books, periodicals, maps, audio/visual media, and government documents, but does not identify individual periodical articles. Articles can be located using one of the indexes discussed later in this section. For instruction on GIL, visit the online tutorials at http://www.usg.edu/galileo/skills/unit06/index.phtml/ or contact Ron Wheeler.

Law Library E-Journal Locator

http://law.gsu.edu/library/ejournals.php
The E-Journal Locator is an easy one-stop solution for finding both individual e-journal titles and article content in databases subscribed to by the Law Library. The E-Journal Locator provides links and coverage information for all the Law Library databases that include an individual journal.

GALILEO

http://www.galileo.usg.edu/
GALILEO is a statewide resource that provides access to over 100 databases indexing thousands of periodicals and scholarly journals. Over 2,000 journal titles are made electronically available in full text. Other resources include encyclopedias, business directories, government publications, and reference sources. Off campus, find the GALILEO password in GIL by clicking on "Get GALILEO Password," then typing in your Library ID from your Panther Card and your last name.

Current Awareness and Alerting Services

BNA Email Alerts

http://law.gsu.edu/library/bna.php
BNA provides email highlights and alerts for most of their titles. These e-mails come out on the same daily, weekly, or monthly basis as their corresponding BNA publication, alerting you to the latest developments, cases, and reports in your area of law with a direct link to the full-text of the report from BNA.

Faculty can subscribe to email highlights by registering online at http://law.gsu.edu/library/bna.php. If you have questions about alerting services contact Pam Brannon.

CILP (Current Index to Legal Periodicals)

http://lib.law.washington.edu/cilp/cilp.html
The University of Washington Law Library prepares the Current Index to Legal Periodicals weekly. Law faculty can receive the entire weekly index or specific parts of the index that are of interest. If you want to receive only specific subjects or journals, you should set up a "SmartCILP" profile see below. If you are interested in receiving the CILP please contact Ron Wheeler.

SmartCILP

http://lib.law.washington.edu/cilp/scilp.html
SmartCILP provides automated personalized e-mail delivery of CILP. Electronic subscribers continue to get the full text of CILP each week. After setting up a SmartCILP profile, subscribers receive an additional e-mail message each week that focuses only on the subject headings and journals they have selected. This e-mail message is clearly marked as "SmartCILP" to allow easy identification and review of results. SmartCILP profiles can be changed each week, allowing subscribers to tailor the delivery of CILP to their changing research needs. Contact Pam Brannon for the authorization code to use SmartCILP.

The database subscription list allows researchers to locate all of the online databases available at the Law Library. One can browse the list alphabetically, browse by general subject categories, or browse by means of access. The list is made up of databases purchased by the Law Library as well as legal-specific databases available via the University Library and GALILEO.
