Finding Cases

1. Start by deciding if you are looking for federal cases or state cases.

If you are searching for federal cases, search in the LexisNexis Academic database in the "Legal Research" section and "Federal Case Law" library.

If you are searching for state cases, search in the LexisNexis Academic database in the "Legal Research" section and "State Case Law" library for the state of interest.

2. After you find a case, see if it is still good law by searching the case citator LexisNexis Shepard's Citation Service.
