Law Library
Finding Articles
1. Start by looking for articles in one of the Law Library's periodical indexes:
- LegalTrac (1980 - present)
- Index to Legal Periodicals and Books (1982 - present)
- Index to Legal Periodicals and Books -Retrospective (1918 -1981)
- Index to Legal Periodical Literature (1786-1922)
Both LegalTrac and Index to Legal Periodicals include the full-text of some journals; however, for most journals you will need to look elsewhere to find the full-text of the article.
2. If you find a citation, see if your journal is available electronically via the Law Library E-Journal Locator.
The E-Journal Locator will provide links to all the databases the Law Library subscribes that cover your journal; however, sometimes a journal will not be available electronically.
3. Use the Law Library catalog, GIL, to find locations and holdings of those journals which are available only in paper.
