Senior Director of Development

Located in the thriving business and cultural capital of Atlanta, the Georgia State University College of Law is celebrating its 25th Anniversary, well positioned to launch into its second generation. With over 675 students and 50 faculty, Atlanta provides a living laboratory, offering numerous opportunities for its students. The College of Law (COL) is one of the six academic units at Georgia State University, an urban research institution with over 27,000 students.

Duties:

Building upon past successes, the senior director of development, reporting to both the dean of COL and the vice president of development, will be responsible for conceptualizing an ambitious and creative program for development, reflective and supportive of the college's strategic goals, including embarking on a capital campaign for the COL's new campus.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 7 years of related experience; or a combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in fund raising and donor cultivation, coupled with an appreciation of the opportunities facing an institution on the rise. Requisite experience includes a history of progressively responsible development expertise, a successful track record of closing gifts over $25,000, increasing value of donor relationships, building new constituencies, and productive business affiliations. Additionally we seek experience in campaign planning, capital programs, and endowment gifts of at least $1 million.
