Part-Time Program

Part-time student, kristi ramsey
“While the part-time program is a challenging and demanding program, it’s also an incredible opportunity to meet with other professionals who all have big goals for the future.”
Kristi Ramsay (J.D. ’15)

About 34 percent of our students are enrolled in this program so they can balance their studies with full-time jobs, families and other commitments. The typical part-time semester load consists of 9-10 credit hours. Part-time students can earn their degrees within four years if they enroll during the summers, but most extend their studies over a period of four-and-a-half to five years.Though part-time students take most of their courses in the evening, these students have a full opportunity to participate in moot court, Law Review and trial litigation programs as well as beneficial student life activities.

The part-time program is successful, in part, because we work to ensure our part-time students have access to all of the programs and resources available to their full-time counterparts. Just as important, however, is how the part-time program benefits our law school community. The additional dimension part-time students bring to our classrooms, clinics and student organizations and activities enhance everyone’s law school experience.
