This on-line and text bidding systems record bids that are received via web page or SMS text entries. We cannot be responsible for delays in network transmission or errors caused by non-standard web client software. This system has been subjected to good-faith testing and is considered to be reliable and accurate. All bids are recorded with time received and network address, for troubleshooting and quality control purposes. While the only way to bid on silent auction items is through the online systems, we can make provisions for you to bid via the online web system without the need to enter any personally-identifiable information.
Bids are considered to be contracts which you are expected to honor. In cases of legitimate errors in casting a bid, a PILA Auction Volunteer may be able to rescind erroneously-placed bids. Any other bidders who are affected will then have the right to have their previous bid(s) rescinded as well.
Auction items listings are color-coded to indicate items that you have bid on, with a green background if you are the high bidder and a red background if you are no longer the high bidder. Note that these indicators are accurate at the time of generating the web page and may change at any time. The listing page must be refreshed by reloading to see the latest status.
PILA is an organization dedicated to beneficial service - all proceed from the auction are used for supporting law students in performing work in the public interest. The auction is intended to be a friendly, fun event, and the organizers reserve the right to revoke access to the bidding system by bidders who threaten the orderly operation of the systems.
