Catherine F. Klein



Catherine F. Klein is Professor of Law at Catholic University of America and Director of Columbus Community Legal Services, the umbrella organization for the law school’s live-client clinical program. She is also Director of the Families and the Law, one of the first law school clinical programs in the United States designed to address the issue of domestic violence through individual representation, community outreach and education and legislative advocacy. Professor Klein has published numerous articles and organized many workshops and trainings on the legal responses to domestic violence. Professor Klein is a current member of the Global Alliance for Justice Education (GAJE) Steering Committee, serving as one of two representatives from North America. She has participated in the GAJE conferences in Trivandrum, India, Durban, South Africa, Krakow, Poland and Cordoba, Argentina. She was Co-Chair of the GAJE North American Regional Conference in New York City in May 2006. Professor Klein received her J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law and a B.A. from Northwestern University, with a degree in philosophy. She was elected to the Order of the Coif and Phi Beta Kappa.
