J. Gordon Hylton



Gordon Hylton is a Professor of Law at Marquette University where he also teaches in the Department of History. During the 2007-08 academic year, he is Visiting Professor of Law at Washington & Lee University. He is a graduate of Oberlin College and the University of Virginia Law School and holds a PhD in the History of American Civilization from Harvard. He has taught courses on the history of the legal profession at Marquette, Washington University, and the University of Virginia. He is also the author of a forthcoming book on the history of the legal profession in Virginia from Reconstruction to the Great Depression.
