Religion & the Presidential Election
Noon - 1 pm - Room 170The J. Reuben Clark Law Society, Christian Legal Society, and the Federalist Society are excited to co-sponsor a two-person panel discussion focusing on how faith and religion have affected the 2012 presidential race. The panel participants are Professor Francis Beckwith (Professor of Philosophy & Church-State Studies at Baylor University) and Mr. Ken Driggs (DeKalb County Public Defender).
Professor Beckwith has published numerous articles and books on various issues regarding religion, politics, etc., including the 2002 book The New Mormon Challenge: Responding to the Latest Defenses of a Fast-Growing Movement. Click here for Professor Beckwith's full bio.
Mr. Driggs, a criminal defense lawyer in the Atlanta area, has written extensively about Mormon and legal history topics, including several articles about Fundamentalist Mormons. He is the author of the 2000 book Evil Among Us: The Texas Mormon Missionary Murders.
Each panelist will provide opening remarks (about 10 minutes each) with the remaining time (40-50 minutes) open to questions from the audience.

Pachyderm Pastries and Donkey Delights
Noon - 1 pm - Room 1st Floor Lobby Table 1Phi Alpha Delta will be tracking which Presidential Candidate is winning at the College of Law. Pick your treat and put your party in the lead! We will be selling Red and Blue treats and tracking the winning party based on how many red or blue treats are sold. Money raised will go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society!
