Urban Fellows breakfast: John Allen, McKenna Long & Aldridge

7:45 - 9:30 am - Room 4th Floor Faculty Conference Room

The speaker for the February Urban Fellows breakfast is John Allen, an attorney at McKenna Long & Aldridge.  For the past several years, Mr. Allen's environmental practice has focused on the tri-state water war.  He will give an update on the water war, including the June 2011 decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit and an anticipated revised biological opinion by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.  Mr. Allen is a graduate of Georgia State University's College of Law and holds an engineering degree from Georgia Tech.  He currently serves on the editorial board of the State Bar of Georgia's Environmental Law Section.

Urban Fellows breakfasts are held on the fourth floor of the Urban Life building in the faculty conference room.  Breakfast will be served at 7:45 a.m.  The speaker will begin at 8 a.m. and will break briefly at 8:50 a.m. for those that need to leave for class.  A question and answer period will then begin and conclude at 9:30 a.m.

Out of respect for the speaker, business dress is requested.

Attendance is limited to Urban Fellows, Faculty Affiliates, and invited guests.  If you are not an Urban Fellow or Faculty Affiliate and are interested in attending, please contact Karen Johnston at kjohnston3@gsu.edu.

Fundraiser for Jennifer Ann's Group

Noon - 1 pm - Lobby Table #1

Drew Crecente, a GSU COL graduate, started Jennifer Ann's Group after his daughter was murdered by her ex-boyfriend on February 15, 2006.  As a law student, Drew created the Legal Society for Intimate Violence Education (L.I.V.E.).  This is L.I.V.E.'s first year as an official student organization.  In Drew's honor, we will hold a fundraiser for Jennifer Ann's Group.

Please stop by our table for a treat and to make a donation.  Money collected will be presented to Jennifer Ann's Group for the six year anniversary of her death.
