Noon - 1 pm - Room 170The Student Bar Association will host the Law Week Keynote Address with speaker Michael Manely, Esq.
Michael Manely is a Georgia State alum (J.D. '89) and is Managing Partner of the Manely Firm PC, specializing in family law. The Manely Firm is dedicated to bridging the gap between justice and families by offering our clients caring, thorough and purposeful legal support at a very competitive cost.
On December 5, 2012, Mr. Manely argued before the United States Supreme Court in Chafin v. Chafin on behalf of U.S. Army Sgt. Jeff Chafin who was trying to regain custody of his daughter, Eris, 5 who resides in Scotland. On Feb. 19, the U.S. Supreme Court unanimously ruled in favor of Sgt. Chafin, holding that American courts could get involved in a custody dispute even if the child in question resides in another country.
