Poll Monitoring/Election Protection Information Session
Wednesday, December 31, 1969, 7 - 1 pm
Location: 201
Students interested in being trained in voter protection and volunteering in the upcoming election as election monitors are eligible to receive College of Law pro bono hours for such activities. Election monitors are allowed in the polling areas and assist all voters who have questions pertaining to voter i.d., registration, provisional ballots and other challenges to voting. Election monitors also work with the polling personnel at polling sites to assist in complying with voting laws.
Representatives from Georgia Election Protection, a non-partisan organization, and the Obama campaign each contacted us to solicit student volunteers. Naturally, we reached out to the Romney campaign and invited them to participate in these efforts, as well. We will be hosting an informational session on campus in Room 201 on Wednesday, October 3rd at noon and 5:00 p.m. for students wanting to learn more about voter protection training and volunteering. Additionally, each participating organization will be hosting a training session on campus in the evening on October 18th as well as additional times off campus (information about other training dates/times will be provided at the October 3rd information session).
