Khalil is a graduate of Harvard Law and an expert on Coptic Egyptian Law. He co-wrote "A Brief History of Coptic Personal Status Law" with GSU Law professor and historian Ryan Rowberry. The article was published in Berkeley Journal of Middle Eastern & Islamic Law and can be found here.
Professor Fadel wrote his PhD dissertation on legal process in medieval Islamic law while at the University of Chicago. Fadel received his JD from the University of Virginia and was admitted to the Bar of New York in 2000. He has published numerous articles in Islamic legal history and Islam and classic liberalism.
