Healing Hospitals on the Brink of Bankruptcy

Monday, April 19, 2010, 11:45 am - 1 pm
Location: Room 170 (overflow room 100)

Program Description

Economic indicators show that the nation is gradually recovering from the worst recession since the Great Depression. The forecast for hospitals, however, is unclear. The influence of health care reform adds another dimension of financial uncertainty. This program will highlight the various drivers of economic distress for the nation's hospitals and explore options for managing the mounting debt. From out-of-court workouts to bankruptcy proceedings, this program will examine the restructuring of hospital debt and the roles of attorneys in that process.
