Margaret (Meg) Butler joined the College of Law Library in Fall 2010. Professor Butler teaches Legal Bibliography. Additionally, she offers legal reference services and training for law school community members on legal research and resources.
Prior to joining Georgia State University, Professor Butler worked as an international law reference librarian and professor of legal research at New York Law School, where she taught research courses addressing international and intellectual property research issues. Before receiving her M.L.S., Professor Butler earned her license and practiced law in Minnesota, concentrating in guardianship and conservatorship. Professor Butler also has worked as an attorney editor and an author at a major legal publishing company. Professor Butler has an M.S. in Education and worked as a teacher.
Professor Butler is a member of the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL), serving as the Section on Social Responsibilities vice-chair/chair elect; the Southeastern Chapter of the American Association of Law Libraries (SEAALL); Atlanta Law Libraries Association (ALLA); and the American Society of International Law (ASIL).
