Coastal Georgia Community College is a two-year, rural, non-residential community-oriented college located in the heart of Georgia's "Golden Isles." The graceful, wooded main campus is located in the coastal city of Brunswick. Students faculty and staff enjoy the use of a three-acre lake on campus where they can fish and take canoeing and sailing classes. The college offers courses at two other sites: the Camden Center in Kingsland and the Liberty Center, in Hinesville, which is a consortium of Coastal Georgia Community College and four other south Georgia USG institutions.

The college serves 2,000 students who come primarily from the southeast Georgia coastal counties of Glynn, Camden, Brantley, McIntosh and Wayne. The average age of the student population is 28.

Coastal Georgia is one of four USG institutions offering both two-year associate degrees transferable to four-year academic institutions and technical education degrees and certificates for career preparation. The college offers the core curriculum for academic transfer and prepares students for certificate programs in professional fields including nursing and allied health. Coastal Georgia also offers applied science degrees to serve the workforce needs of business and industry, including a special program for the pulp and paper industry. Selected graduate and master's degrees are offered through the Brunswick Center, a consortium with Armstrong Atlantic State University and Georgia Southern University.

Students at Coastal Georgia Community College may choose from an array of extra-curricular activities, including an active intramural program and a variety of clubs, organizations and professional societies which offer leadership and fellowship. The intercollegiate athletic program includes varsity sports in men's basketball and women's softball.

The college is at the center of a bustling hub for more than 300,000 residents, including Camden County, one of Georgia's fastest-growing counties. It has a commitment to the community, area residents and employers alike through outreach programs focused on academic success and technical preparation.

Founded in 1961 as Brunswick College, the institution officially opened its doors in 1964. It became Coastal Georgia Community College in 1996.
