ATLANTA - Over 100 faculty, students, graduates, and other friends and supporters of the Center for Law, Health & Society gathered at the home of Charity Scott, Director of the Center, for the Center’s annual social event, which was held on Oct. 20.
"It’s always a genuine pleasure to see such a broad cross-section of the legal and health communities coming together to enjoy each other’s company and share good food and drink," said Scott. Guests included lawyers, doctors and other health professionals, educators, and others from both the private and public sectors who have common ground in issues at the intersection of law, health and society.
Plummeting temperatures outside meant that most guests preferred to stay inside rather than enjoy the garden, which is usually open for this event. The chill in the air did not dampen anyone’s enjoyment, however, which was evident in the lively conversations and congenial atmosphere.
Jeff Gillman, a local musician, provided a medley of musical scores on his electric guitar during the event, adding to its festive atmosphere.
"We all have such hectic and crowded schedules these days," said Scott. "It’s important to take the time for each other and relax together. The digital world can never replace the richness of simply spending a little time to renew our friendships and connections in person."
