The Georgia State College of Law can boast an interdisciplinary community of intellectual property educators both on-campus and off. Partnerships between the College and the legal community - from corporations and government entities to non-profit organizations - facilitate promising associations for College of Law students. Not only is the College able to provide intellectual property class offerings, scholarships and mentoring, this integral community connection provides numerous opportunities for educational collaboration and innovation.
The Southeastern Intellectual Property Job Fair (SIPJF) is been made possible by a joint effort of student volunteers, alumni, and the Georgia State University College of Law Career Services Office. The IP job fair encompasses all areas of intellectual property from litigation to transactional to prosecution, across all industries and types of organizations.

A collaboration between Georgia State University College of Law and the J. Mack Robinson College of Business, the Corporate Intellectual Property Institute is a two-day event that allows in-house IP professionals to discuss current issues they face and provides them the opportunity to hear common corporate issues and to network locally and nationally.

The College of Law awards five IP Scholarships. Four scholarships are in the amount of $1,000, while one of these scholarships covers in-state full-time tuition and mandatory student fees for three years (the first six fall/spring semesters) of attendance at the GSU COL. Two of the $1,000 scholarships are awarded to entering students in recognition of interest and commitment to IP, while two current students are awarded $1,000 scholarships based on interest, commitment and achievement in law school.

The College of Law offers a mentoring program to all students who join the Intellectual Property Law Society (IPLS). Each student is matched up with an Intellectual Property attorney based in Atlanta. The program kicks off each fall with a mentor/mentee mixer, where students meet their attorney mentor as well as other local attorneys. Attorneys commit to 2-3 one-on-one meetings throughout the school year, one of which may include a job shadowing day.

The College of Law offers a mock interviewing program to all students who join the Intellectual Property Law Society (IPLS). Mock interviewing typically takes place in the spring in preparation for fall interviews. Best efforts are made to provide multiple interviews with different Atlanta Intellectual Property law firms in similar areas of interest and expertise.

The College of Law provides multiple moot court team opportunities to students and sends a team to participate in the Saul Lefkowitz Trademark Moot Court Competition and a team for the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA) Giles Sutherland Rich Moot Court Competition. Both teams are coached by Professor Jeff Kuester and other volunteers, and costs for travel, food and lodging are covered.

A group of interested students maintain an organization for like-minded students. Their mission is to provide members with opportunities to network with practicing IP attorneys, to learn more about Intellectual Property art and technology issues, and also to provide a forum for students to work together to build their legal careers.
