Career Services Office Staff
Vickie Brown - Director
Vickie has accumulated nineteen years of business and student services experience from employment in both private and public legal institutions. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington in 1981.
During her tenure as Business Manager at the University of Puget Sound School of Law in Tacoma, Washington (now Seattle University School of Law), she was responsible for administering the law school budget and managing Student Accounts, Bookstore, Copy Center and Mailroom Services. Vickie joined Georgia State University College of Law staff in August 1988. She served as Program Administrator for the Externship and Litigation Programs for seven years. Vickie was appointed Acting Director of Career Services in 1996 and Director in 1997.
Vickie is committed to gaining exposure for the College of Law in the legal community through active interaction and outreach with legal employers, participating in local and state bar associations activities and visible membership in the National Association for Law Placement (NALP). She was appointed to the NALP Board of Directors in May 2002 and will serve a two-year term.
David Smith, Jr. - Assistant Director & Public Service Advisor
David brings over ten years of career service experience to the law school. He is currently completing his PhD in Higher Education at Georgia State University. For his dissertation, David has written the history of Georgia State University from 1913 to 2002. He has earned a doctorate and master's degree in Business Administration.
David joined the law school staff in October 2002. He was formerly on the staff of Emory University and the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business. His first career was in the United States Army in the areas of human resources, law, and combat arms.
Regina Bryant - Sr. Administrative Secretary
Regina joined the Career Services staff in August 2000. She has over twelve years of administrative support experience. This includes ten years in higher educational institutions. Prior to joining the Career Services Office she worked as Administrative Secretary for Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta. Before moving to Georgia she was employed in several divisions at Claflin College in Orangeburg, South Carolina, including the Career Development and Counseling Office. Additionally, she worked as a Desk Top Publisher for several years.
