Non-discrimination Policy

The following non-discrimination statement is in accordance with the standards of the Association of American Law Schools (AALS), of which the Georgia State University College of Law is a member.

In compliance with the Georgia State University College of Law policy, accessibility to all programs operated by the College is guaranteed to all otherwise qualified persons. Therefore, there shall be no discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, or veteran status, in either the selection of students for participation in the program, or as to any aspect of the program; provided, however, that with respect to disability, the disability must not be such as would, even with reasonable accommodation, in and of itself, preclude the student's effective participation in the program. The services of the Career Services Office are available only to those employers who agree to abide by this non-discrimination statement.

Recent Congressional enactments (Solomon Amendment) provide that certain College of Law funds obtained by grant or contract (e.g. Work Study funds and Perkins Loan funds) will be denied unless the College of Law permits the military to recruit on its premises. In order to avoid significant loss of federal student aid under the Solomon Amendments, the College of Law has decided to permit military recruiters to utilize the on-campus services of our Career Services Office. The College recognizes that under federal law the military may act in a manner not permitted by the College of Law 's non-discrimination policy, and accordingly, cannot assure students that they will not experience discrimination.
