Georgia State University College of Law Non-Discrimination Policy and Statement Regarding Military Recruitment
The Georgia State University College of Law prohibits discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, or veteran status. To access the services of our Career Services Office, employers must agree to comply with this non-discrimination policy.
The military excludes gay men and lesbians from employment, in violation of our non-discrimination policy. However, federal law (the Solomon Amendment) denies federal funds to institutions that bar the military from recruiting on campus. Solely to avoid the loss of critical federal funding, the College of Law permits military recruiters to utilize the services of our Career Services Office. This exception to our policy does not in any way reflect acceptance of, or agreement with, discriminatory hiring practices.
NOTE: Students are encouraged to inform the Career Services Director immediately if, at anytime during the recruitment process, he/she feels an employer acts in a manner not consistent with the College of Law's policies and statements as set forth above.
