Career Services StaffVickie M. Brown, DirectorVickie is a graduate of the College of Business and Economics, Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA. Her professional career in legal administration spans 20+ years in both private and public institutions, which has involved working with over 5,000 law students and graduates. As Director of Career Services her areas of responsibilities include career advising and coaching students and alumni, strategic planning, employer recruitment and development, operations, events planning, marketing and human resources. Prior to her appointment as Director in 1996, she held several positions at the law school to include Program Administrator for the Externship and Litigation Programs. Before coming to GSU, she was the Business Administrator for the University of Puget Sound Law School in Tacoma, Washington (now Seattle University School of Law) responsible for financial affairs including $7 million budget operations and administration, student account services, accounts payable and management of the law school’s Bookstore, Mail Services, and Copy Center units. Ms. Brown is a member of the National Association for Legal Career Professionals (NALP), the preeminent organization in legal career planning, recruitment and hiring, employment and professional development worldwide. She served a two-year term on its Board of Directors as Southeastern Region Director 2002-2004.Assistant Director & Public Service Advisor Alfred "Ray" English, Associate Director & Public Service AdvisorRay recently joined the CSO in October 2008. He is originally from Columbus, Ohio and has resided in Atlanta, Georgia since 2000. Ray attended Wentworth Military Junior College on an ROTC scholarship and was recognized as a Distinguish Military Graduate, receiving a commission in the U.S. Army Reserve. Ray went on to graduate from The Ohio State University and Howard University School of Law, where he graduated cum laude. He served six years as an Assistant Staff Judge Advocate in the U.S. Air Force. Ray served around the world in positions such as Chief of Contracts, Deputy Staff Judge Advocate, Area Defense Counsel and Director of Civil Law for the U.S. Air Force Reserve Command. Upon leaving the military, Ray worked two years as an Assistant Professor of Law teaching criminal law and litigation skills. Since moving to Atlanta, Ray has been a general counsel, and operated a solo practice. He also worked for three years in the legal staffing industry, assisting law firms and corporate legal departments with hiring qualified attorneys. Regina Bryant, Administrative CoordinatorRegina joined the Career Services staff in August 2000. She has over twelve years of administrative support experience. This includes ten years in higher educational institutions. Prior to joining the Career Services Office she worked as Administrative Secretary for Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta. Before moving to Georgia she was employed in several divisions at Claflin College in Orangeburg, South Carolina, including the Career Development and Counseling Office. Additionally, she worked as a Desk Top Publisher for several years. |
